Lorin Clarke and Stewart Thorn are arriving on Tuesday at Bundanon, New South Wales to commence our artists' residency there for the next month.
Lorin's Diary is full of exciting updates. Producer Rita Walsh will join them in late August.
Standing There Productions has been granted an Artists' Residency for just under a month in August-September at Bundanon in New South Wales – a fantastic opportunity for us to work together on developing our projects in a beautiful setting and without the usual interruptions. Writer Lorin Clarke and resident designer, director of photography and marketing guru Stewart Thorn will arrive at the residency in mid-August. Producer Rita Walsh will join the team for the last week of the residency.
Our diary page is sure to have some interesting updates.
Lorin has been further developing a screen adaptation of the script of For We Are Young And Free (nominated for a Golden Gibbo in the 2007 Melbourne International Comedy Festival) as well as a prose version of that story. Greatness Thrust Upon Them, our comedy festival show from this year, is about to get another workout, and a new project (as yet unnamed) is in very early stages.
Stewart and Lorin are planning several short video projects for development during the Bundanon artist residency.
Rita also continues to work as production coordinator on Snake Tales, a kids' TV series being made for Westside Films and Channel Nine. Later in the year she'll move to Sydney to complete her attachment with producer Jan Chapman on the new film directed by Jane Campion, Bright Star.
One of the guys who worked on our film and set up our website, Nick Jaffe, decided one day that he wanted to go to Germany, buy a boat, and sail home. Problem was, he didn't speak German, he had no money, and he'd never been in a boat. Despite some astonishing setbacks, he's actually doing it. Check him out here.
Our comedy festival play, Greatness Thrust Upon Them, has finished a fantastic run at Comedy @ Trades as part of Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
We had a great response, including reviews in The Groggy Squirrel, Pretend Paper, and The View from Benambra.
A huge thanks to all our supporters and to our cast and crew.
Greatness Thrust Upon Them was a carbon neutral show.
